We invite applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the statistical properties of Denoising Diffusion Models (DDMs) project funded by EPSRC and led by Professor George Deligiannidis.
This post is fixed-term until 31 March 2027
The post-holder will work with Prof. George Deligiannidis, a member of the OxCSML group of the Department of Statistics. The work will involve studying the statistical properties of DDMs, and other related generative models, using existing and novel theoretical approaches. It is envisaged that this theoretical exploration will also inform further methodological developments. The post holder provides guidance to junior members of the research group including research assistants and PhD students.
Applicants will have, or to be close to completing a PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics or a closely related discipline with relevant experience with the ability to manage their own academic research. They will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
We proudly hold a Race Equality Charter Bronze Award and a departmental Athena SWAN Silver Award, which guide our progress towards advancing racial and gender equality. As part of our commitment to openness, inclusivity and transparency, we would particularly welcome applications from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in positions of this type at Oxford. Applicants will be selected for interview purely based on their ability to satisfy the selection criteria as outlined in full in the job description. You will be required to upload a statement setting out how you meet the selection criteria, a curriculum vitae, and the contact details of two referees as part of your online application.
Please direct informal enquiries about the post to the HR Office (email: [email protected]), quoting vacancy reference 170960.
Only applications received before 12.00 noon UK time on 1 March 2024 can be considered. Interviews are anticipated to be held after 11 March 2024.
