Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The Theoretical Physics Group in DAMTP includes Alejandra Castro, Nick Dorey, Maciej Dunajski, Sean Hartnoll, Harvey Reall, Jorge Santos, David Skinner, David Tong and Aron Wall as well as other researchers and postdocs. The post is available from 1st September 2024 for a 36-month, full-time contract.

This position is funded by the Simons Collaboration on Celestial Holography, made up of 13 Principal Investigators at 10 institutions around the world. The post carries the title "Simons Fellow in Celestial Holography," and carries with it the benefit of substantial opportunities for travel and scientific interaction. This includes funded travel to Collaboration meetings, workshops and schools as well as the potential for intra-collaboration research visits.

In addition to working with the grant holder David Skinner, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and pursue their own research. You must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and will be expected to deliver seminars relating to your research. You may also be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects and to provide instruction in your research area.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in either Theoretical Physics or Mathematics and will have a strong track record of excellence in research, particularly in areas related to Celestial Holography, Scattering Amplitudes and Twisted Holography.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
