Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Advanced Metabolomics to work with Professor James McCullagh for a period of up to 12 months. The post is funded by Immuncore) Our research focuses the development and application of multiple methodologies, including ion-exchange chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (IC-MS) applied in cells, tissue and biofluid screening assays. to elucidate and develop new therapeutic targets using T cell in vitro assays and other cell models in the area of immunometabolism.


Applicants must hold a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or a related analytical field (or be close to completion) prior to taking up your appointment.  The research requires expertise in ion-exchange chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry, ideally applied in metabolomics applications and you will be proficient in the use of multiple chromatographic approaches coupled to mass spectrometry for metabolomics applications.

You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities.  This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.You will also test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.
