About the Role

The postholder will join the Centre for Preventive Neurology (CPN) to work on an exciting project on dementia genetic and molecular epidemiology. This post is initially funded until 31st July 2025. The successful candidate will harness genetic, multi-omic and lifestyle/clinical information from large-scale population-based and clinical cohorts, and use cutting-edge statistical approaches to improve risk prediction and early detection of Alzheimer’s disease, and to improve our understanding of the molecular pathways leading to Alzheimer’s disease. The specific aims of the project are to:

  • Investigate the relationship between circulating metabolomic and proteomic biomarkers and Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Systematically disentangle causal relationship between circulating metabolites and proteins and Alzheimer’s disease and modifiable risk factors for dementia.

About You

The post holder has a good undergraduate degree (first or upper second) and a PhD in a related field. The post holder will oversee the data acquisition, curation and quality control. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a lead on analysis of the data and will have the opportunity to present and publish results from the study.
