THE ROLE:
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) will work on the Future Transport Zone (FTZ) programme, a £28.75 million project funded by the Department for Transport to trial innovative and sustainable ways to move people and goods. This is a multidisciplinary project in collaboration with the University of Southampton and Solent Transport, comprising Southampton, Portsmouth, and Hampshire County Councils.

The University of Portsmouth will investigate the travel behaviour change of the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) app developed in the FTZ project to reduce private car usage, making travel journeys smarter and greener within the Solent area. The PDRF will lead on the modelling, monitoring, evaluation and analysis of the travel behaviour change of MaaS. Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in transport and/or travel behaviour modelling/analysis. Proficiency in survey design, and statistical analyses using software is also required.

This appointment is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with a possible extension to June 2025.
