Do you have a passion for innovation and an eye for detail?

Cambridge Enterprise is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Intellectual Property (IP) Portfolio Coordinator to join our team. In this varied role, you will support your colleagues to help world-class inventors in bringing cutting-edge ideas to life.

Why you will love this role:

You will be an essential support to our Technology Development and Licensing (TDL) team. And be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our extensive IP portfolio, including invention disclosures, patent applications, and commercial agreements. This requires a meticulous approach and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously whether that be monitoring the inbox, managing deadlines, or ensuring all records are accurate and up to scratch.

Become a patent pro:
Liaising with TDL colleagues, inventors, and external patent agents, you will ensure our patent applications run smoothly and meet all deadlines. You'll gain valuable insights into the world of IP and play a crucial role in protecting and commercialising Cambridge's innovations.

Your admin skills and organised mind will maintain impeccable documentation of invention disclosures, patents, and funding agreements, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Support the team that supports genius:
Your colleagues in the Business Support Team are a friendly and collaborative bunch. You'll provide cover and support wherever needed, ensuring the team functions effectively.

What you'll get out of it:
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Cambridge University, one of the world's leading centres for innovation. You'll gain valuable experience in IP management, working alongside some of the brightest minds in science and technology. We’re looking for someone who not only has great administration and organisational skills, but who is also able to suggest improvements and new ways of working. Bring your experience to help us do things better!

What we're looking for:
  • A highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working in an administrative or coordination role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use your influencing skills to help colleagues and partners meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You deliver exceptional service with a smile.

Diversity and equality matter:

These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they are 100% qualified. At Cambridge Enterprise, we promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so please apply if you meet the majority of the job requirements.

If you have any questions about the interview process, or if you need any reasonable adjustments, please don’t hesitate to contact Ian, Gemma or Michelle at [email protected]
