Our Planning and Business Intelligence department play a big part in helping us achieve this, taking responsibility for managing and enhancing strategic planning activities across the University and working with key colleagues in Academic Schools and Professional Service departments to facilitate an integrated approach to planning.

Currently, we have an opportunity for a Planning & Performance Manager to join us and take a lead role in managing and enhancing the strategic planning activities across the University.

The Role:

As Planning & Performance Manager, you will be in an excellent position to use your experience as a Data Analyst/Planner/Forecaster to lead and co-ordinate corporate planning and reporting activities of the University and student population planning cycle, including leading on the confirmation and agreement of student number intake targets and tuition fee income, monitoring and reporting.

As someone with your finger on the pulse in the Higher Education sector, you will be in a prime position to lead on modelling, forecasting and scenario planning, including student number forecasting and integrated planning solutions. 

Further to this, your extensive market knowledge and experience of working in a strategic planning office, will allow you to lead on the development of data models that provide a holistic view of the University’s performance and how this will impact on its strategy.

This role is central to the forecasting and planning of the University’s ongoing strategic vision. You will have a small team of Planning and Performance Officers to assist you, allowing you to fully utilise your relationship management skills, attention to detail and innovative approach to planning, which will in turn see you managing the student number population - ensuring it meets Scottish Funding Council targets and allowing you to play a hugely important part in shaping the University’s academic portfolio.

What we will need from you:

This is an ideal role for someone with an analytical mind, experience of delivering detailed management information, and the ability to forecast with confidence and accuracy.

You will also need:

  • Experience of working in a strategic planning office, providing management information and intelligence to senior management.
  • Experience of working with large datasets and interpreting and presenting key findings.
  • Experience of developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for the delivery of new management information that improve strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Experience of managing and co-ordinating a number of different projects simultaneously
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.

Additional information:

Salary: Grade 6 - £44,263 - £56,021 per annum (depending on experience)
