This is a full time, 3-year (initially) management/academic appointment, within a military training unit.

Overall purpose of post: To be part of a multidisciplinary Human Performance (HP) Team, supporting people to meet the high demands of working within a military unit. As part of the nutrition team, you will be expected to deliver high quality presentations, and conduct practical 1-1 advice and nutritional analysis, all supported by pertinent and contemporary research. The production of nutritional plans will be required to meet peoples varied role and operational demands, often in an environment where time is a valuable commodity.

You should have:

  • Minimum of MSc in Sport Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
  • SENr Practitioner Registration or Similar.
  • Evidence of having worked in relevant performance domains (e.g., sports, business, military, medical or emergency services).
  • Significant experience in delivering bespoke nutritional plans.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of creating and implementing behaviour change strategies.
  • Significant experience of working effectively within a high-performing multi­disciplinary team.
  • Significant experience developing and delivering impactful nutritional interventions at a team and individual level.
  • Experience in supporting rehabilitation processes with nutritional interventions.
  • An ability to analyse nutrition/performance-related data to inform practice.
  • Skills/Experience of using various physiology/nutrition related testing equipment.
  • ISAK level 1 qualification

You will be:

  • Working under the Performance Nutrition Manager, and with the rest of the unit Nutrition team, to deliver the physicality element of the Human Performance (HP) programme.
  • Ensuring that all material being delivered is up to date, evidence informed and applicable to wide range of unit roles.
  • Ensuring that the unit is embracing the latest advancements in nutrition science in a military context.
  • Conducting of group presentations, practical classes and 1-1 coaching sessions.
  • Producing of individual nutritional plans to meet people’s role demands, lifestyles, and possible personal interests in sporting activities.
  • Giving nutritional advice where applicable in the context of rehabilitation and recovery. When required, work with the physio team, to best support an individual’s return to work.
  • Gathering, management, and cohering of data. This may be at an individual level, or the producing of trend analysis to support groups and the larger organisation.
  • Testing and analysing individuals and groups from a nutritional point of view as well as assisting with other physiological tests as required.
  • Working with all the unit HP team, to ensure we meet the standards of a leading military HP programme.
  • Where applicable, signposting people to other elements of the HP Team to provide advice and support, ensuring a holistic approach to all individuals health and wellbeing.
  • Working alongside the other elements of the HP Team to ensure a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
