Pathways Evaluation and Operations Manager

About the role

Pathways is one of 29 national partnerships working to deliver the Office for Students (OFS) current widening participation scheme – Uni Connect. Working as a key member of the Pathways partnership (which is comprised of Loughborough University, University of Leicester, De Montfort University, Loughborough College Leicester College and the Leicestershire Enterprise partnership) this role is to lead and manage the evaluation for the programme.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues in the widening participation team, the wider University and the Pathways partnership to embed and develop expertise in evaluation and objective-setting through knowledge sharing and fostering a culture of evaluation and a community of practice. A key objective of the role, is to raise the profile of Pathways by publicising, proactively and professionally, emerging findings on what works in HE widening participation practice.


About you
As our successful candidate, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent as well as having significant experience and understanding of evaluation and statistical analysis using both quantitative and qualitative research, which will be used to assess the impact of outreach activities.
You should be able to manage a complex and varied workload, working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience of drafting strategies, policies and reports which include analysis of complex data.
 
Strategic planning and project management skills are a must, as well as a pro-active approach and willingness to put forward and develop new ideas.

 
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.
