Updated: 16 days ago
Location: Penryn, ENGLAND

About The Role
We are now looking to recruit an Online Tutor to join our MA Sustainable Fashion (Online) team in the Fashion and Textiles Institute. Your role will involve working on a module titled ‘Re-Wire’ which introduces students to the role and application of systems thinking in developing a regenerative fashion industry. Re-Wire critiques the systems behind fashion and poses the question; how can you implement sustainable change that addresses the multiple intersecting crises in the fashion system? The module will scrutinise why systems need to be radically transformed to design out the exploitative practices in fashion and identify where we can rewire the system to deliver a responsible impact for the planet and its people.

This module content is already recorded, the Online Tutor leads discussions and reviews students' work in weekly tutorials and webinars. Students engage with pre-recorded content that has been created by module leaders in the virtual learning environment and work through this during the week in their own time and come together to meet their Online Tutor for live sessions.  Online Tutors are vital to the success and vibrancy of our online courses. They are a constant presence in the module, the first point of contact for students’ academic enquiries and supporting their learning activities.

As the Online Tutor you will deliver live sessions such as webinars, workshops or tutorials each week to a cohort of students. Around these live sessions you will be responsible for topic discussions, and academic guidance via emails, one to ones and an online learning space. You will work closely with the course leader and module leaders to ensure best possible student experience.
The hours for this role are flexible and spread throughout the week as agreed by your line manager. The flexibility of this role means that you can fit the hours around existing responsibilities. The role compliments individuals who have freelance careers or other teaching commitments. Each online tutor is responsible for no more than 30 students, making this an extremely rewarding role.
The Online Tutor for this module will be allocated 160 hours to support up to 30 students with learning, assessment and feedback, working May 2024 to September 2024.
