Job summary

Our dynamic in-house Occupational Health service seeks to recruit an Occupational Health Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team, delivering OH services to a diverse University community and external clients. Our work focuses on health protection at work and providing management advice to support workplace wellbeing. 

If you are a Registered Nurse and are interested in Occupational Health Nursing, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills in a supportive environment. If you have experience in Travel Health and wish to extend your practice, this might be the role for you.

  Our key areas of work are -

  • Health assessment of University staff and students for work activities with a specific fitness standard, in line with internal protocols and national guidance. 
  • Travel health clearance and immunisations for overseas work. 
  • Immunisation of healthcare workers and researchers in line with NHS guidelines and risk assessments. 
  • Delivery and administration of Health Surveillance programmes, assisting compliance with statutory responsibilities in protecting employee health. 

Occupational Health at Imperial College delivers in-person services from our South Kensington Campus; clinical activities are also offered at offsite locations. This role is hybrid, with the opportunity to work remotely in line with the demands of the service. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to a culture of learning.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Clinical assessment of staff and students in line with fitness standards of role

  • Administration of vaccines and undertaking venepuncture.

  • Health surveillance for exposure to Respiratory Sensitisers.

  • Audiometry


Essential requirements

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (Part 1)



  • Experience of working in a clinic setting

Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
