About the role:

As Network and Security Analyst, you will be responsible for providing specialist expertise on information and cyber security in order to defend the University’s digital services from cybersecurity attacks. You will be responsible for the day to day operational and technical management of information and cyber security issues within the University including responding to security incidents, addressing security vulnerabilities in the Universities digital systems and services, supporting critical IT platforms, monitoring and driving compliance with policies, providing expert advice and guidance on information and cyber security issues and building security capability in other teams across the University.

About you:

We’re ideally looking for someone with:

  • Solid understanding of security frameworks such as: NCSC Cyber Essentials; EC/ISO 27000 series;  NIST SP-800 series; PCI-DSS; OWASP Top 10
  • Good understanding of data protection legislation - GDPR; Data Protection Act 2018
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IP and networking technologies
  • Knowledge of network and cybersecurity technologies including firewalls, secure web gateways, SIEM, EPP / EDR , and IDPS concepts.
