Salary

Lecturer: £48,039 to £57,797 per annum; Senior Lecturer: £60,099 to £69,505 per annum; Reader: £69,506 to £85,000 per annum; Professor: Open band commencing £76,345 per annum

As part of the creation of the new Magan Centre of Applied Mycology (MCAM) , we are growing our team and are recruiting outstanding academic talent to support the expansion of the centre to develop 5 core areas of our research and teaching within our Environment and Agrifood subject areas.

About the Role(s)

Our academic and research staff, including scientists, engineers, technologists, policy specialists and social scientists, are engaged in delivering postgraduate teaching, research, consultancy and training in a national and international arena.

The applied mycology expansion areas available to apply for are:

-       mycomaterials

-       fungal-based bioenergy

-       sustainable manufacturing

-       indoor environment and green construction

-       environmental mycoremediation

You will need to apply for each expansion area individually with a maximum of 2 areas and ensure your supporting statement provides details of your experience specific to area of application and whether you are applying for Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor.

About You

Talented researchers and academics, who are enthusiastic about research in any of the above-mentioned specialist areas, have a PhD relevant to one of these areas, want to make a difference with your industry partners, and are keen to be part of a dynamic and professional team, are invited to apply.

You will be able to demonstrate a promising track-record of achievements, including generating income, appropriate to your research area and career stage including significant publications (as main author) in the leading international peer-reviewed journals of your respective field. You will be expected to develop and build long term relationships with industry, science programmes and professional bodies.

To be successful in this role you will be comfortable with change, willing to work flexibly, and open to new ways of doing things. Importantly, you will be able to collaborate with and influence people and build relationships quickly, and you will be eager to play a full role in the fast-moving and exciting MCAM project.
