Grade 4: Pro-rated £25,138 - £28,759 per annum with a possible discretionary range up to £31,396.

Part-time (22 hours / 60% FTE)

Fixed term contract to 29 August 2025

We are seeking a Membership Assistant to join the Gardens, Libraries & Museums (GLAM) Team within the University of Oxford’s Development Office. This is a vital and exciting role, fundraising for the Bodleian Libraries by supporting the delivery, management and growth of the Friends and Patrons programme, which is at the heart of the Libraries’ supporter activity.

About the Role

Working in the GLAM team, based at the Bodleian and reporting to the Membership Manager -

Bodleian.

The purpose of the role is to provide essential support for the administrative processes

and operational delivery associated with the smooth running of the Membership programmes.

These Groups actively support the work of the Bodleian Libraries through grants and other activities.

The Friends currently number approx. 1200 members in the UK and overseas.

About You

• Communications: To respond to day-to-day membership enquiries and to support membership communication and marketing activities, such as mailings, regular e-mails and newsletters.

• Events: To support the delivery of a program of engaging events, working with the Development Team on in-house events, such as in-person and online lectures, and annual events, such as the Annual Lecture and the Patron’s Annual Dinner.

• Finance and Administration: To be responsible for and run the day-to-day membership of the Friends of the Bodleian, including database maintenance, and processing new memberships and renewals.  Providing administrative support for membership activities such as Committee meetings.  To manage financial duties relating to membership, such as banking, generating purchase orders, and keeping financial records updated.
