We have several part-time roles available in Exeter and Truro available from September on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

About the role:

You will provide case based small group facilitation at College of Medicine and Health, University of Exeter for third or fourth year undergraduate BMBS medical students in either Exeter or Truro.

Students meet in groups to explore and discuss clinical case scenarios. You will meet with your group of students for two hours, four times in each term of the academic year. Therefore, there are 12 facilitated tutor sessions per academic year. Sessions occur on Mondays (Year 3) or Fridays (Year 4). Each two-hour facilitated session attracts payment for one hour of non-contact time to allow for case preparation and student liaison.

About you:

For a Lecturer (MLA Clinical Case Facilitator) post you will:

  • Be medically qualified.
  • Have GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Have good IT skills
  • Have experience of teaching
  • Be clinically active or have significant clinical experience.

Salary

If you are a GP (on the GP register and GMC-registered with a licence to practice) the method of payment is via an individual contract of employment 

If you are a hospital doctor (on the Specialist register and GMC-registered with a licence to practice) employed by a Trust, there are two methods of payment:

  • Trust payment: reimbursement to the appropriate Trust with the tutor role included in your NHS job plan.
  • Individual contract of employment
