Medical Assessments Administrator

Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Bristol, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime

Bristol Medical School is seeking to appoint a full-time Medical Assessments Administrator to provide administrative support for undergraduate assessments: booking actors for clinical skills teaching and assessments, supporting the involvement of patients, and working with the Assessments and Feedback Manager and the rest of the medical education student support team, including academic staff leading areas of the programme.

You will work in partnership with academic and other professional services staff and play a key role in supporting the use of actors and patients in the medical programme in both teaching and assessment and supporting administration of medical assessments when required.

One of your key tasks will involve maintaining a database of actors including specifications such as age group or gender of actors, answering enquiries from potential new actors, and responsibility for contingency planning and actors training. Actors will need to be supported to work on the programme and this can include liaising with colleagues in the Temporary Staffing Service (TSS) and checking Right to Work documents and liaison with the University Tax Team to ascertain the employment status of individuals undertaking acting work for the Medical School.

We are looking for someone that will be able to flourish in a busy and challenging but very rewarding role. The medical programme is complex and non-standard and there is a regular need to think innovatively, developing new processes and providing valuable input into a changing environment. You will have a good eye for detail and strive to deliver excellence in every aspect of your work. This role will offer a fantastic development opportunity. The post-holder will also be a good team player, able to work effectively with staff at all levels in the School and in other service areas and with an ability to take initiative and show leadership to colleagues.
