The postholder will be undertaking varied and interesting work to support the School in delivering high quality technical support. You will participate in the design, development, manufacture & fabrication of a wide range of models and equipment, produced from a variety of materials (metals, plastics and wood) in support of research, teaching, and enterprise work.
The role holder will develop to provide some technical instruction & supervision of students in workshop, studio and laboratory environments, ensuring safe working practices are maintained. You will have considerable experience in the use of hand and machine tools in a multi-disciplinary workshop environment and will have a high level of accuracy, flexibility and dependability together with a ‘can-do’ disposition to with regard to professional development and learning/skills acquisition.
The post is part of the team of 14 technical staff based in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering. The School is one of the largest centres for built environment education in the UK. We bring together outstanding facilities, superb teaching and excellent colleagues.
