Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford is at the forefront of global business education and research. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Finance team as a Management Accountant. Reporting directly to the Financial and Systems Accountant, this role is pivotal to the commercial success of both Saïd Business School and its trading subsidiary, OSBS Ltd.

As a Management Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the Financial and Systems Accountant to ensure the effective financial management of the School's various programmes. Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly management accounts, particularly focusing on non-accredited programmes, such as Custom Executive Education courses and Open Programmes. You will also play a key role in system enhancements and the migration to Oracle Financials, while providing high-quality financial reports to budget holders and senior management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of all financial and systems processes surrounding Custom and Open Programmes, including preparation of monthly management accounts, revenue recognition and contribution margin analysis.
  • Design and implement a new process for reporting financial information from Project Managers, including creating training materials and delivering training sessions.
  • Lead the data migration of programmes from Sage to Oracle Financials.
  • Manage month-end processes for core overhead departments, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and support during audits.

You should hold or be or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification, with proficiency in month-end accounting processes and the production of management and statutory accounts. You should also demonstrate advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel, and a track record of maximising the efficiency of accounting systems.
