Lectureship in Politics/International Relations

The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures wishes to appoint up to two Lecturers in Politics/International Relations.

Applicants should have a PhD in Politics, International Relations or a related subject and a record of publications of international excellence.

You will contribute to teaching and research in the Department, be expected to play a part in research and other research-related activities of the School and undertake administrative roles within the Department, the School and the University as appropriate. We specifically invite applicants to set out research plans and priorities over the next five years including an indication of how they intend to engage with the research themes of the University, School and Department as well as their plans for developing bids for external funding and for attracting postgraduate research students to Liverpool; for their participation, along with other members of the Department, in academic-related activities based on their research interests within the framework of the University¿s Strategic Plan. These activities should include the development of research impact and may include programmes for knowledge transfer, outreach, or continuing professional development or other schemes for generating and maintaining links to cultural and community partners outside the University.

The Department welcomes applications from all areas of the discipline and methodological approaches, but particularly encourages applications from scholars with regional specialisms including, but not limited to, South East Europe and Russia, as well as individuals with research interests in international political economy, environmental politics and gender.
