Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Reader in Thermofluids and Aerodynamics

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader, (commensurate with experience) with demonstrable research expertise in one or more of the fields of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, computational fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, or hydrodynamics. 

Our ideal candidate will undertake world class innovation-led research programmes that complement their research, along with contributing to the delivery of an excellent student experience via research-led teaching and assessment. The post holder will also contribute to wider School and University citizenship and outreach activities.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Honours Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or closely related subject.
  • Hold a PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Demonstrable postdoctoral research experience in a relevant research area including, but not limited to, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, computational fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, or hydrodynamics.
  • Record of high quality, relevant, research publications commensurate with stage of career.
