The Department of Art & Performance within Manchester School of Art is looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Painting to join our Fine Art staff team.

Art & Performance is a long-standing cornerstone of the creative offer at Manchester School of Art and is characterised by interdisciplinarity, collaboration and contextual understanding.

We provide a supportive, vibrant environment and collegiate research and studio culture for staff and students to develop their potential as academics, artists, curators, performers and writers. Existing areas of expertise include but are not limited to: art and archives, fine art and curating, memory and materiality, painting, sculpture and visual culture. We promote the importance of individual practice and collaborative work within the expanded field of contemporary art and visual culture?

Candidates should also have teaching experience and a professional practice that specialises in painting and be able to teach across the wider academic curriculum across Fine Art at Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and PhD level.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for personal tutoring and other academic leadership roles and will contribute to the on-going development of the Fine Art curriculum offer at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

Please note that we are a campus based University and the successful candidate will need to be in Manchester on teaching and other days as required.
