The University of Exeter Business School seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our team of exceptional academics whose research and teaching impacts on the most fundamental challenges facing the world today.

We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Operations Management to join the University of Exeter Business School’s Department of Management (Streatham Campus) and are seeking someone who can contribute fully to departmental activities, including teaching and research. For this post we are seeking expertise in Project Management with experience of PRINCE2, and preferably APM qualifications. The prime focus of this role is to deliver outstanding learning outcomes for our students through exceptional teaching and learning on academic programmes within the Business School, and to engage in research that enhances teaching design and curriculum development.

The Department of Management comprises 6 subject groups.  One of the groups is the Operations & Analytics group, which covers Operations Management, Operations research, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Business and Project Management.  The successful candidate will join a vibrant and growing team of academics who are engaged in a broad range of scholarly activities, research and impact.  

Colleagues in UEBS contribute to teaching across the range of undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programmes as part of the Faculty of Environment, Science & Economy, and the successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching activities of the group at all levels. Successful candidates will also help us to deliver an inclusive and innovative education to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

For a Lecturer post you will have:

  • A strong and demonstrable interest in Business and Management, or related fields
  • A PhD or equivalent
  • An independent, active research programme in a relevant field of research that has the potential to become internationally leading
  • Evidence of attracting research funding, or demonstrate a clear potential to attract such funding
  • A strong potential for research leadership
  • Enthusiasm and/or experience for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes

For a Senior Lecturer post, in addition to the above, you will have:

  • An internationally recognised research programme
  • A strong track record in refereed publications and success in significant grant capture
  • Clear evidence of research leadership
  • Relationships with external organisations and funders/ and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges
