Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Clinical Exercise Physiology

We are recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology to provide specialist, high quality teaching and research in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

We have invested strongly in our Institute of Sport to establish ourselves as sector leaders for sports education and research. New research and teaching spaces provide a unique range of sports performance facilities, human movement laboratories, extreme environment chamber and clinical imaging for detailed investigations of athletes, patients and the general public. We work with elite sports organisations, local authorities and clinical groups to facilitate teaching, research and innovation to understand human movement across the age and health spectrum and to optimise performance for all.

About the role/Ideal candidate: 

We are committed to attracting and retaining the very best academics to work with us. For this vacancy, we are seeking a clinical exercise physiologist with experience of designing and delivering exercise prescriptions for patient groups and a track record of delivering outstanding teaching to inspire students and improve outcomes. We are looking for someone with:

• a first degree in exercise sciences and a PhD in Clinical Exercise Physiology or closely related areas.
• experience of leading exercise prehabilitation/rehabilitation sessions for patient groups.
• existing strong links with community exercise rehabilitation networks locally and/or nationally.
• Accredited by the Academy of Medical Sciences for Clinical Exercise Physiology (or accreditation application underway).
• experience of teaching in higher education to delivery high quality student experience and outcomes.
