About the Role

As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our research-led teaching and learning in our BSc and MSc Sports Therapy courses. Depending on your experience and interest, you will also be required to supervise research students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and contribute to clinical supervision of BSc students. Through your teaching and supervision of students, you will be expected to help support students to gain graduate level employment and/or pursue further study, depending on their aspirations and interests. 

You will be expected to contribute to the research profile of the department through the activities of one of our Research Units, and/or expand our knowledge exchange and continuing professional development activities in areas aligned to your areas of expertise and the Department’s strategic priorities.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, ambitious, and collegiate professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. You will be an experienced and effective academic and/or practitioner with an appreciation and understanding of the competencies defined by our accrediting body the Society of Sports Therapists. 

We embed sports science and physical therapy principles within our programmes, and thus applications from experienced academics and/or practitioners from the applied sports sciences and musculoskeletal oriented allied health professions are welcome. Alternatively, applications from sports scientists with expertise in sports injury prevention, management or rehabilitation would be welcome.

You will have a passion for providing students with evidence-based teaching and learning and be committed to expanding your own research and/or knowledge exchange related activity. You will also be committed to engaging in relevant knowledge exchange and professional development activities which align to the Department’s strategic priorities. You will have a passion for enriching our students’ experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced by your qualifications and experience.
