Updated: 8 days ago
Location: Oxford, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 09 Jun 2024

The School of Law and Social Sciences at Oxford Brookes University provides an intellectually stimulating, friendly and supportive environment in which to work and study.  As part of its development strategy, the School of Law is seeking to appoint a member of staff at L/SL level to further support its teaching, co-curricular and knowledge exchange strategies.

We are seeking a candidate who will contribute to our co-curricular activities, enhance our student experience and employability strategy, and contribute to teaching particular courses.

Successful candidates will have a record of teaching (or evidence of an ability to teach) students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in several current areas of need, such as (but not limited to) Contract, Skills/advocacy and English Legal System.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with experience of legal practice or experience of providing co-curricular activities in HE, to contribute to the co-curricular offering for law students at the university. You will work closely with the Co-curricular Lead to advance extensive professional networks, support students in cultivating their practice related skills, and identify opportunities for the growth and development of co-curricular activities. You will be expected to organise events and enhancement activities, as well as contribute to teaching on at least one module as outlined above.  The role offers the chance to develop and progress in the education and student experience promotion pathway as part of a highly motivated and supportive team.  This post will be particularly attractive to individuals with experience of legal practice seeking to progress their careers in higher education, or academics with a desire to enhance their career through a focus on co-curricular activities and teaching and learning.

Interviews are planned for the Friday 21st June 2024. They will be in person, but can be online if needed.

If you would like to discuss any of these roles, please contact Chara Bakalis, Deputy Head (Strategy and Development), School of Law and Social Sciences - [email protected]
