Biosciences is a relatively small but dynamic and growing Department seeking to develop and make a significant contribution both to Biology and the student experience. Students enjoy their time with us as evidenced by our excellent NSS scores and we have had considerable investment in equipment for research and teaching. We have begun a flying faculty delivery of our undergraduate biology degree in China; hence this is an exciting time to join the Department.

You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative/ qualitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework exercise.

For informal enquiries, please contact: Dr Anne Oxbrough, Head of Biology at [email protected]

 About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. An established or promising research profile in ecology and/or conservation and teaching experience on relevant undergraduate programmes is essential. A background in some aspect of ecology and conservation, with supporting qualifications and experience, is essential. We welcome applicants from any area of ecology and conservation, but we are particularly interested in individuals working in ornithology or animal/wildlife conservation who would contribute to new or existing course content on our degrees.

To be successful you will further enrich our students’ experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and experience.
