In support of this we are looking to recruit a Module Leader to join the BA (Hons) Visual Communication (Online) team within the Institute of Photography at Falmouth University. This Module Leader will work alongside the staff team to write, design, curate, record and deliver level 6 modules to a global cohort of students. Alongside the development of the new curriculum, you will be responsible for pastoral support, and academic guidance via emails, one to ones and our online studio space. You will work closely with the course leader and online tutors to ensure best possible student experience.
 
Module Leaders are vital to the success and vibrancy of our online courses. As well as creating exciting, engaging, relevant and contemporary content you will oversee the students learning experience in level 6 alongside the course leader. The modules are primarily asynchronous (not undertaken in real-time), online tutors work with the students and deliver live sessions, module leaders oversee the online tutors and students in their modules and are involved in reviewing and making enhancements to their modules each year.
About You
Educated to Masters level, with industry experience as a photographer/illustrator/designer, the ideal candidate will have experience in working with groups of students from diverse backgrounds at HE level. Student focused, well organised, and digitally literate you will be running live tutorials, webinars, online workshops and providing support for a group of staff and students. You will have specialist knowledge working in design/illustration/photography. Previous teaching experience is required. You will have excellent communication skills, and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students. You will also have knowledge of assessment and pastoral support.
 
We are looking to hear from candidates who also have the following skills/experience: 
  • An understanding of the principles and practicalities of online learning
  • Industry experience in Photography/Illustration/Design
  • Strong connections with industry and professional practice
  • Excellent digital literacy 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisation and presentation skills HE Teaching experience

Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK.
