The Nuneaton Campus is part of North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College – one of the largest and most successful colleges in the region. The College understands the importance of recruiting talented and passionate staff that are central to all College achievements and are the driving force in the success of our learners.

We have some new cohorts of engineering apprentices working with new employers on exciting projects, we are looking for someone that can interface with clients externally and be an ambassador for NWSLC whilst training our apprentices.

The Position: We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Requirements for the role:

  • You must hold relevant engineering qualifications at level 3 or above. E.g. HNC Mechanical /BEng Engineering.
  • Able to teach and facilitate workshop skills [milling, fitting, turning]
  • Able to teach Lean Manufacturing Operative.
  • Able to teach Engineering Maths and Science at Level 3.
  • Desirable skills requirements [Fluid Power, maintenance, CAD, CNC]
  • Experience of working in the engineering sector.
  • Desirable experience teaching engineering apprentices on IFATE standards.
  • A desire to train the next generation of mechanical engineers.
  • Hold an assessor’s qualification or willing to work towards
  • Hold a full teaching qualification or willing to work towards.

Responsibilities for the role:

  • Planning and delivering all aspects of teaching learning and assessment.
  • Deliver high quality training to apprentices and work-based learners.
  • Work at our college sites and when required on site on employer’s premises
  • Inspire our students to excel in the sector and in their learning.

The Location: The college is based in Nuneaton in a general further education setting. Nuneaton is a great place to live with plenty of social and sport facilities together with great transport links. The college also has a site in Wigston, Leicestershire and the MIRA Technology Institute, there may be a requirement to teach at these sites for part of the working week.
