Job description

Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Lecturer in Social Sciences.
This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a vibrant team of academics in the Division of Social Sciences in The School of Law and Social Sciences at LSBU. We are looking to appoint an academic to deliver undergraduate Social Sciences modules. The successful candidate will join a caring and collaborative team that delivers excellent student support and experience throughout the academic year. We are open to receiving applications from a wide range of expertise and experiences including practice based, academic or and public sector.  

 

This role is a 0.5 FTE, Fixed Term Contract for 6 months, with an immediate / January 2024 start available.

 

About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

 

  • Experience of delivering lectures, seminars, and undergraduate dissertation assessment predominately in the field international relations and politics but may also include sociology and criminology.
  • We are looking for a self-starter, capable of using initiative, team player, willingness to work collegiality.
  • The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to student development and in nurturing student voice.

 

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, preferably with a PhD (though not essential), be highly motivated bringing a positive approach to the division. Experience with apprenticeships is also highly desirable.
