Salary
Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £45,751 to £50,798 per annum, with potential progression up to £63,059 per annum
About the Role
This position is part of our Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Centre that focuses on sustainable manufacturing through application of fundamental science and innovative thinking and to provide best practice solutions for industry by adapting the research results for their use.
In this role you will focus on undertaking a leading role in research in sustainable green manufacturing and the integration with smart manufacturing, and in teaching and management of postgraduate courses in related topics.
About You
You will have track record in theoretical and practical knowledge in manufacturing management areas such as Clean / Green / Lean Manufacturing, Green operations, Management of sustainable operations, Circular economy technologies, Circular economy business models, Decarbonization, Dematerialization, Industry 4.0 and sustainability and Smart factories management. You will have a PhD in manufacturing, engineering, information technology or a related area. You will have experience in writing high quality papers in top rated journals and in developing research proposals. You must be proficient in oral and written communications and have a strong track record in publication. You must demonstrate the ability to engage with industry and wider stakeholders.
You will be expected to write and win funding for research proposals from RCUK, Innovate and Europe as well as directly from Industry. Targets for such funding will be set annually through the Performance & Development Review process.
