Job Purpose:

The School of Geography and Environmental Science at Ulster University is a vibrant and dynamic department teaching over 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students and with an international research profile in the fields of geography, marine science and environmental sciences. We have recently renewed our Athena Swan Bronze award and are committed to an inclusive and diverse working environment and teaching practices with EDI at the core of our work principles.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a commitment to education that emphasizes active learning experiences in the classroom and field settings for a 9-months, full time post . The successful applicant for this post will contribute to relevant teaching at undergraduate level, including coordination of relevant modules (specifically “Society, Environment and Sustainability” at Level 4 and “Geographies of Transnationalism” at Level 6), as well as acting as Course Director for the BSc Geography programme and contribute to other School’s activities as required, including dissertation supervision, open days, field schools, etc.

They will also be able to undertake or continue their research in line with the School’s strategy and the School will provide some financial support for successful candidate for the development of their own research agenda during their appointment. During the appointment, the successful applicant will also be able to avail of many development opportunities and training offered by the University.
