Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer for our successful Film Studies and Film Production programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career academic to contribute expertise to a dynamic undergraduate course within one of our most popular programmes.

You will have a good professional profile within the area of Film Studies/Production as well as teaching experience in Higher Education. The successful candidate will design, deliver, and lead a range of modules, actively taking part in student recruitment activities and other administrative tasks appropriate to the role. You will also work with students across all levels and offer academic and pastoral support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design teaching material and deliver across Film Studies and Film Production modules.
  • Take a lead in own area of expertise, act as mentor for junior colleagues when appropriate.
  • Act as a personal tutor to a group of students, providing academic and pastoral support.
  • Design, mark and assess students’ work and provide positive and constructive feedback to students;
  • Plan, co-ordinate and implement practice/research programmes and/or engagement projects; organisation of external activities such as student projects, field trips and industrial placements; manage or monitor research or engagement budgets and ensure effective use of resource; organise administrative duties;
