About the role
We are looking for a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering to support in establishing a sound independent base for world-changing research and research-inspired education in the fields of electrical and electronics engineering.
In this role, you will be making a significant contribution to our specialist teaching in China, through our strategic partnership with the Dalian University of Technology (The Dalian Leicester Institute). This will involve teaching modules in engineering subjects in China for up to 15 weeks each year.
Joining our new Green Energy Technologies and Systems (GETS) Research Group in the School of Engineering, your expertise and research interests will be mainly focused (but not exclusively) on the fields of Power Systems, Sustainable Energy, Electrical Machines, Transportation, Power Electronics, Electronic Control, and Communications. The Group is a welcoming and inclusive team, undertaking interdisciplinary research focused on the School and College major research areas. We are looking to strengthen and add to research critical mass in these areas, with specialisms from candidates preferred in the fields of Power Electronics, Electronic Control, and Electrical Machines or Power Systems.
Alongside research, you will contribute to teaching in at least two of those areas, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and pursuing research and innovation contributing positively to our society. We will support you in developing your research and teaching career and, in turn, you will play a key role in ensuring our continued success and fulfilling our future ambitions.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic educator capable of inspiring interest, curiosity and drive for learning in our students. You will have a real passion for the subject matter and be motivated to provide the very best experience for our students using your expertise and skill to ensure all reach their potential.
We are interested in candidates with a PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in the above-mentioned areas. You should have an established reputation for research, with a high quality publication profile and be able to evidence your potentially fundable research ideas. You must also have excellent networking skills, which you use to seek out opportunities for collaboration and citizenship, both internally and externally.
We look forward to receiving your application.
