The Role

The Department of Strategy, Marketing & Innovation within Kingston Business School invites applicants for the post of Lecturer in Digital Marketing. The role provides the opportunity to use your research and industry experience to inform the delivery of exceptional teaching in the areas of Digital Marketing Strategy and Tactics, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Customer Experience (CX).

This is an exciting opportunity for an ideal candidate to join a vibrant and collaborative team of academics responsible for delivering impactful research and excellence in learning and teaching that align with the University’s vision to develop graduates who are sought-after for their skills, knowledge, and ability to innovate. The role involves leading the design and delivery of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules within your specialism and applying relevant technologies and innovative approaches to delivering outstanding student experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering and supporting Higher Education activities within interdisciplinary contexts and relevant industry experience. You will have a positive approach and the ability to contribute to the team and potentially rise to serve as a Course Leader in the future.


The Person

Applicants should either have completed a doctorate in Marketing/Digital Marketing or a related field or expect to complete this before joining Kingston Business School. Special consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrated potential to produce high-quality academic research and relevant industry experience. The individual will actively contribute and align their research to the activities of one of the School’s Research & Knowledge Hubs of Excellence .

You will play a key role in realising the University’s Town House Strategy , equipping students with essential skills such as innovation, enterprise, and digital and creative problem-solving to prepare them for the evolving world of work. Your responsibilities will encompass teaching and assessing a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules across the department's degree programs, employing various technologies and creative pedagogical approaches. You will contribute to the expansion of department's portfolio and the development of novel courses in the field. We recommend including evidence of teaching excellence and student feedback in your application where available, and clearly highlighting any experience of designing and/or leading modules or programmes, where appropriate.

Your role extends beyond teaching, involving pastoral care for a diverse student body, academic leadership, effective management, and administration. You will actively engage in applied research, aligning with the University's mission to establish an outstanding reputation for research-informed teaching, innovation, and integrated academic excellence. Our academics are engage in the pastoral support of current students and recruitment outreach initiatives, including Open Days. Furthermore, you will have opportunities to share your knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy, pursuing ventures that generate profitable income while actively supporting students in securing valuable placements whenever feasible. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).

This is a full time, fixed term position for 12 months with a starting salary of £43,187 per annum.
