The Open University has recently become a full partner of the Higher Education-Further Education Collaboration Fund (Otherwise known as “Connected 5”) which will run from 2024 to 2028. The exciting development has enabled the University to recruit a Knowledge Exchange Manager to meet our obligations as part of Connected 5 and to contribute to meeting its targets.
This role will provide operational support in developing and managing research-related enterprise, knowledge exchange and impact support.
Principally this will be to support companies, particularly small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs), to access knowledge within The Open University and to develop partnerships which enable those companies to progress along the innovation escalator. This will also involve partnering with Further Education Colleges to enable companies to benefit from a wide range of expertise and innovative solutions.
The successful candidate will also work as part of the employer engagement team and will support broader University/employer engagement in Ireland, particularly in areas related to knowledge exchange, research, skills and enterprise.
You will have experience of facilitating higher education provider/employer collaboration on knowledge exchange activity, proactively engaging with businesses and developing new partnerships (including identifying and connecting with new businesses, relationship management), and of writing funding applications.
