We are seeking medical clinicians to be clinical role models for undergraduate medical students within the KMMS undergraduate programme and act as key supporters of the Module Leads for the modules in years 1 and 2. These roles offer an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of medical educators working to establish and deliver an innovative and integrated undergraduate medical curriculum across all years of the programme.
The roles are available on a part-time basis on a minimum of 0.2 FTE, however, greater FTE may be possible, subject to requirements. Please indicate any FTE preference within your application.
The subject areas/modules that you may expect to get involved in may include but are not limited to the following depending on your interests and subject areas of expertise:
- Women’s health
- Respiratory
Suitable applicants may be currently on the specialist register, or in clinical practice at a senior level as a Specialist Doctor or as a Locally Employed Doctor. You will have a License to practise and will be in current clinical practice or within five years of your most recent period of clinical practice.
As an Associate Lecturer you will:
- co-ordinate, administer and deliver small and medium size group teaching sessions
- contribute to the creation, development and evaluation of new and innovative course material
- contribute to the preparation, set-up, administration, and marking of assessment activities
- act as a role model for students and provide pastoral and academic support
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
- a Medical/Healthcare degree, or a closely related subject area such as Human Anatomy, Physiology or Biochemistry
- an advanced knowledge of the relevant subject area to effectively deliver teaching within the BM BS programme
- a demonstrable interest in teaching and learning, ideally with experience in teaching undergraduate medical and or healthcare students in a clinical or academic setting
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
These roles will involve working on the campus sites of both the partner universities in Canterbury and Medway.
