Kings Chief Registrar

Chief Registrar

Acute Medicine

Fully funded post available from August 2017, ST5 and above

An exceptional and unique opportunity has arisen inviting applications for the first Chief Registrar at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill.

This aspirational role will endeavor to redefine medical practice at the front door, embedding a culture of multidisciplinary learning, large scale quality improvement at the Emergency Department/Acute Medicine interface and service transformation.

The Acute Medicine Team at Denmark Hill was a top 3 finalist in the recent 2017 Royal College of Physicians Excellence in Patient Care Awards in the Medical Education & Training category and provides a supportive, Consultant-led environment. We are keen to build on this platform and work towards a service design that is sustainable for the future.

The post is fully funded & based in Acute Medicine at the Denmark Hill site, therefore would be a valuable OOPE. 50% of time will be for dedicated Chief Registrar activity. We are happy to consider candidates who wish to continue their training if their TPDs will support the validation of their 50% clinical component, which may be deanery funded.

Chief registrars are emergent leaders of the future and it is anticipated we can help them along their way to fulfil such senior leadership positions as Clinical Director, Medical Director and Chief Executive.

The King’s Chief Registrar would have access to executive and clinical leads, training and support across Kings Health Partners, with a dedicated management program hosted at the Royal College of Physicians.

This is a fixed-term role for a period of 12 months.

Interview date: 29th & 30th June 2017
