The University of Oxford is hiring a Junior Payments Assistant. This pivotal role involves managing the payment processes across the University, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and deadlines.

Role Overview:

As a Payments Team Administrator, you will be responsible for the meticulous processing of various payment documents, ranging from supplier invoices to expense claims. This role demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain accuracy even when handling high volumes of transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter all payment documents into Oracle EBS daily, meeting strict weekly deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and process batches for the weekly payment run, ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Verify and correct errors in processed batches, maintaining data accuracy.
  • Conduct verification of supplier bank details through direct communication.
  • Provide support and guidance to suppliers, addressing queries via email and telephone.
  • Handle sensitive personal data with discretion and adherence to data protection rules.
  • Utilize technology, including Oracle Financials, Excel spreadsheets, Word, and email, for various tasks.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability to produce high volumes of accurate work with meticulous attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Part Qualified AAT or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with the University's Oracle financial system.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
