Job description

Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of IT Service Desk Analyst.
This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to take-up a pivotal role within the service, operating within the IT Front Line team and reporting to the IT Service Desk Team Leader, playing a crucial part in facilitating effective teaching and learning at the university.

The IT Service Desk Analyst role at LSBU is designed to offer first-line support to a diverse group of LSBU users, including both academic and non-academic staff, as well as students. This position, integral to the LSBU IT Service Desk team, operates within an ITIL framework and is primarily campus-based, ensuring efficient and effective IT support services. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver a helpful, responsive, and courteous service to all.

  

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Educated to degree level in a Computing related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, with ITIL Foundation certificate preferred.
  • Experience of providing customer-focused and effective IT Service Desk first level IT support, including hardware/software support, installation, and configuration.
  • IT knowledge and skills across a wide range of hardware, operating systems and core applications, such as, MS Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Virtual Desktop MS 365 Office, Active Directory, Internet and Intranets, Web services.
  • An understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting end user devices.
  • Experience of application deployment using automation tools (e.g. Intune, SCCM, Jamf, Applications Anywhere).

 

As you will be working with our support teams, schools and students, you will need effective communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders, (both verbally and in writing). You will also need an understanding of the role and purpose of IT/AV within Higher Education. Solid decision-making skills, and a real commitment to customer service, along with flexibility and adaptability are key attributes required to meet the evolving needs of students and staff effectively.
