We are looking for a Campus IT/AV Technician to join our team. This role is critical to supporting our students, staff and external customers and to delivering an excellent user experience to all.

Our frontline IT Support teams provide operational support for a wide variety of IT & AV technologies across the entire University.

As one of the largest professional services departments in the University, Information Services is responsible for the provision of technology, systems and library services.

Information services underpin all aspects of University operations and provide key enablers to deliver the ambitious University strategies for Learning & Teaching, Research & Innovation and Internationalisation. To do this, IS must observe sector and technology trends, listen to its users’ needs, develop core, interoperable capabilities, designed in such a way that they can be re-used in multiple contexts, and ensure that these are expertly delivered based on business priority and at best value for money.

The role

The Campus IT/AV Technician role encompasses the provision, installation, maintenance, and support of IT & audio-visual technologies across the University estate.  This is a hands-on role, supporting staff, students, and visitors in their use of systems ranging from Windows and Apple devices through to complex audiovisual installations.

Who we are looking for

You will have excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus and must have practical experience of working in a customer support environment.  You will have good organisational and analytical skills to complement your strong technical abilities, and will be comfortable supporting and demonstrating the use of relevant technologies to customers across the University.   

  • Knowledge and understanding of various areas of IT & AV technologies, including laptop/PC and mobile devices, IT infrastructure, print, teaching, learning, meeting and event space technologies

Additionally, applicants will ideally have:

  • A degree and/or equivalent professional qualifications or experience
  • ITIL Foundation and/or demonstrable practical experience
  • Experience of delivering IT/AV technology within a Higher Education environment

Salary: £24,533 - £29,605 per annum (Grade 3)
