INTERNAL VACANCY

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only. 

We are looking to appoint an Interim Dean and Head of School to the School of Health Sciences at the University. This exciting leadership role will require someone with passion, drive and high-quality leadership and communication skills to provide inspirational, effective, and efficient leadership to our school.

As Dean and Head of School, you will be accountable to the Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor for all aspects of the performance and running of the School, including resource and budget management.  You will work with the School’s senior leadership team to develop and deliver strategic implementation plans in line with University and Faculty plans, and to develop capacity and talent within the School, for delivery of excellence in education and research. You will provide strong and effective leadership and management, with the ability to motivate, develop and enthuse others to deliver high standards in response to key performance indicators and metrics.

This is an excellent opportunity to act as an ambassador for the Faculty and University and to show your commitment to enhancing the quality and reputation of our academic services. You will be a key member of the Faculty Executive Board working with colleagues on delivering Faculty strategy, performance, and financial plans.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and influence others to ensure the vision and values of the University are achieved.

  • A recognised profile of personal achievement. 
  • Understanding of the issues and opportunities facing both the HE and Healthcare sectors.
