The Finance Department provide a wide range of services and our core responsibilities are; contributing to the strategic direction of the University and corporate management, maintaining financial administration and stewardship, supporting and advising the University's committees, supporting and advising budget holders and managers, and reporting externally and delivering services to staff, students, members of the public, stakeholders and other bodies.  Its remit also includes the management of risk and the Insurance Officer will play a key role in this area.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join our team.

Reporting directly to the University's Procurement Manager, the main duties include:

  • Delivering a robust and professional insurance service to the University,
  • Managing the effective operational management of the insurance portfolio,
  • Leading on all insurance matters to internal and external stakeholders,
  • Managing insurance claims in accordance with the scheme of governance for the insurance portfolio,
  • This role also includes direct Line Manager responsibility for the University's Travel Supervisor.

The role will be stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones working across a wide range of areas in the University.

This is a full time hybrid working role requiring a minimum of 2 days a week from our Lancaster campus.
