INTERNAL VACANCY 

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only. 

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and driven person to join the School of Medicine to provide senior technical support to a programme of work reviewing human tissue for research activities in the University and ensuring the effective and pro-active administration of human tissue work ensuring alignment with university policy and legal obligations.  


You will support ambitious plans for improvement in this area through a review of current human tissue holdings and centralisation of records using a laboratory inventory management system. You will work as part of a team supporting audits and transferring samples to the new central system. You will work with independence and initiative to complete relevant processes, using your knowledge, experience, and skills. You will be required to react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with scope to make decisions within clear parameters. This will include stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure good progression of the programme.  


This role will be based in the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but there may be travel to our other sites to support with the programme locally. 

This post is offered on a fixed term basis until 31/12/2024. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
