The University of East London (UEL) is now one of the leading Universities for performance sport in the UK, particularly in terms of supporting elite athletes looking to pursue a University degree.

UEL has achieved a number of milestones including becoming a Sport England TASS Delivery Site and becoming one of the first Dual Career Accredited universities. We also partner with some of the leading sports organisations in the country including Sport England and British Wheelchair Basketball.

Our students have achieved unprecedented levels of success both in BUCS, regional, national and international competition and we have seen an ever increasing number of student athletes studying at UEL whilst competing professionally or on the international stage.

Our success has been driven by delivering a programme that aims to provide an outstanding service in line with our values as a University. East London Sport focuses on supporting our student athletes as part of their journey in elite sport, by providing the best environment to manage their own dual career ambitions.

An exciting opportunity is now available within the universities High Performance Sport Team, to drive the continued development of the programme as part of the wider universities new corporate strategy, Vision 2028 and Global Sports Strategy.

Educated to degree level with experience in a performance sport environment (ideally in the H.E sector) and with a TALS (or Similar) qualification. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a daily basis with some of the most talented university athletes in the UK, supporting them to succeed both academically and in a sporting environment. This will be achieved through the creation and implementation of a dual career programme that provides holistic support that puts the persons wellbeing first.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a track record of successfully working closely with students or athletes in a sporting or academic environment, an ability to support the development of an individual, a clear understanding of managing the requirements of elite sports people and an outstanding ability to work within and oversee a multi-disciplinary team.
