THE UNIVERSITY:

It is an exciting time to be joining the University of Hull Infrastructure Services as we look to align the developing academic strategy with significant investment in the Estate. Our recently approved Master plan will see an initial investment programme of £265m over the next five years, with further major investment up to 2032.

University and its Infrastructure Services, incorporating Estates and Facilities, is undergoing a period of sustained change as we look to modernise and digitise our services, processes, systems and procedures to meet the demands of the changing internal and external environment.

THE ROLE:

The role of Estates and Facilities is to support delivery of the University of Hull’s strategic plan by providing world class facilities that are sustainable, functionally suitable and well maintained across the Estate which is circa 250,000m2 and consists of 72 buildings with an annual operational turnover of £23m.

The Heating and Mechanical Engineering team forms part of the Estates Operations and Compliance section, which also includes asbestos management, BMS, building services, electrical services, grounds and gardens maintenance, legionella management, multi-skilled trades assistants and the customer support services.

The Heating and Mechanical Engineering team, supported by specialist contractors is responsible for planned and reactive works on mechanical installations and equipment throughout the University’s Estate incorporating a 24 hour provision, 365 days per year.
