This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of the role

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role sits within Finance Services team, in the Division of Finance, Infrastructure and Commercial Services, which provides financial information, analysis, insight and advice to customers. The team supports University executives, academics and researchers as well as Professional Services directors and managers to achieve the University’s strategic objectives. The services provided include management information, strategic financial planning and forecasting, scenario modelling and options appraisal, risk management, stewardship and monitoring of budgets and value generation.

You will be directing the Treasury and Capital activities from a finance perspective including the effective management of the University’s funding and liquidity, endowment oversight, banking relations, foreign exchange and interest rate risks, trade finance, debt management and credit risk. You will take both a broad overview of strategic issues and develop operational solutions relevant to the local environment, always seeking to drive improvements in the service. You will also lead and develop the wider Treasury, Financial and Capital accounting team.

The Higher Education sector is facing an interesting and challenging time and this role will be integral in ensuring the long term sustainability of the University in an exciting environment.

About you

We are looking for CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant, with recent, extensive post qualification experience and an ACT/treasury qualification or equivalent.  You will need to be able to influence at senior levels and provide team leadership, motivation and development. You will have highly honed communication skills and will be comfortable liaising and influencing at the most senior levels.
