In support of this we are now seeking to recruit a Head of Online and Digital Learning who will lead the digital learning staff and will be responsible for the academic leadership, operational management and business performance of new and existing online programmes. The post holder will also be responsible for the leadership and management of digital learning staff supporting technology-enhanced learning across the University.
This is an exceptional opportunity to play a crucial part to develop and lead the operation realisation of the business plan for online programmes and initiatives ensuring it underpins the overall strategy, alongside delivering a successful student experience.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience in leading high-quality academic subjects, including experience in managing and/or developing online programmes, ideally gained in Higher Education or a similar field. We require a candidate who is an excellent communicator that is able to work effectively across the University with a variety of stakeholders. You will have experience of successfully leading teams with a forward looking, innovative approach. A track record of demonstrable impact and the ability to inspire and motivate is a must.
Alongside these core qualities we are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
 
  • Experience in developing and delivering a digital learning strategy or roadmap
  • Demonstrable examples of successful digital transformation implementation
  • Working knowledge of a range of IT and digital learning tools programmes including, Learning Space, Moodle, Turnitin
  • High-quality and current connections with industry and professional practice
  • An ongoing and demonstrable commitment to scholarship, research, knowledge exchange and/or innovation
