Head Chef

Jesus College is looking to appoint an experienced, inspiring and committed Head Chef to provide leadership and management of the kitchen team. Jesus College’s catering service has a reputation for respecting tradition whilst providing a modern and exceptionally high-quality catering service to all internal and external clients and guests of the College. This is a hands-on role where, supported by a senior sous chef, they will coordinate and oversee all kitchen operations and lead a team of chefs to achieve the highest possible standards of dining for our fellows, students, staff, private dining and conference guests. Following the recent completion of a new kitchen, refurbishment and extension of its dining and conference spaces, this is an exciting time to be joining the College. 

This individual will bring a desire to create stunning food offerings across the College and an excellent work ethic, combined with a passion for mentoring a team whilst developing themselves and others. The Head Chef will work in collaboration with the rest of the catering and conference team to ensure that innovative, trendy, fresh and high-quality food is prepared for all College members, their guests and all external customers.

Their priority will be to lead an experienced team of chefs and kitchen porters, build a can-do attitude, efficiently liaise with the front of house team and engage with peers. The kitchen is a very busy environment and excellent management of food safety, work priorities, agreed timescales and events delivery are a must.
