This is a project assistant role for an online, video based learning platform delivered by the NERC funded geoscience analytical facilities based at SUERC, the British Geological Survey, the University of Bristol and the University of Oxford. You will be working with these laboratories in providing comprehensive video training on all aspects of sample collection, preparation and analysis.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in science, and science communication, particularly within the earth sciences and geochronology. The GAEA platform currently focuses on skills development and CPD for earth scientists, but this remit is expanding, and will include some public outreach and engagement.
This role will support the project lead by assisting with all aspects of video creation, including audio-visual capture, resource creation, including illustration and animation, database management and communication with the extended GAEA team and external stakeholders.
Part of this role will be to contribute to the administrative management of this project in terms of website maintenance and uploading course materials, and tracking contributions from the teams involved to ensure timely delivery.
The postholder will work collaboratively with subject specialists to plan videos, develop paper edits and supply content to the videographer for editing. In addition, you will assist with website content and management, and manage customer queries received through the website.
