The National R&D Lab Creative Enterprise Producer is an exciting new role that will play a key part in delivering creative enterprise and commercialisation programmes for the creative technology sector in the UK.

You will be working with world-leading creative companies and industry experts – from Pinewood to BT to disguise to thousands of cutting-edge UK SMEs – bringing excellent production and project management skills to help deliver a broad range of activity that unlocks the potential of creative technology content, IP, products, and services emerging from the CoSTAR network.   

The role sits within the CoSTAR’s knowledge exchange and commercialisation team, and you will work in a creative, inclusive, and dynamic environment based in the StoryFutures Unit at Royal Holloway, University of London.   In collaboration with the Creative Enterprise Manager and wider CoSTAR team, you will be responsible for the production and delivery of a broad range of bespoke and responsive creative enterprise and commercialisation programmes and tailored growth support for individuals and enterprises.  This is a great opportunity to put your stamp on a range of unique and high value support programmes that will have a real impact on the growth of creative technology researchers, innovators, and enterprises. 

The Creative Enterprise Producer will require excellent people, project, programme and event management skills and be agile, responsive, and creative in their approach to delivery.

About the National R&D Lab:  CoSTAR National Lab for R&D in Creative Technology is the largest ever investment in creative industries R&D in UK history: a £51.1m programme led by Royal Holloway, University of London to develop a National R&D Lab for creative technologies to ensure the UK’s screen and performance industries have innovation infrastructure needed to compete globally. What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Schedule and manage CoSTAR business support programmes from initiation to completion, ensuring your unique contribution shapes engagement and delivery.
  • Collaborate with our leading Network Lab partners across the UK to co-deliver and facilitate CoSTAR programme roll out.
  • Build relationships with specialist sector, creative, technical, legal, business, marketing, and commercial strategy expertise for programme delivery. 
  • Engage with UKs top creative enterprises through managing the programme application and selection processes in collaboration with the National Lab Operations Team. 
  • Play a key role in ensuring National Lab strategy and delivery provides a high-quality SME experience for users.
  • Manage programme carbon and inclusion metrics, supporting collaborating partners/companies in their delivery of carbon and inclusion goals. 
  • To actively contribute to an inclusive and sustainability-aware culture of active staff engagement within the CoSTAR National Lab.

  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, work well in a team, proactive and self-confident.  Be used to working under high levels of independence and responsibility.

This is a full time, permanent role available to start from 1st May 2024. This post is based in Egham, Surrey, but with the expectation of flexible working time there and at the National Lab which is being built in the region, flexible working and national travel as appropriate. The successful applicant will spend significant time liaising with Network Lab partners across the UK.
